In the recent times Social Emotional Learning(SEL) has been getting a lot of traction. Especially after COVID, more and more parents are looking for different learning outcomes for their children, those that are not restricted to academic performance but also those that speak to the personhood of their children. SEL as a framework caters exactly to these outcomes in its learners.
 

Vetaas believes in taking the powerful concepts of SEL to parents because we believe all learning starts at home. When parents are transformed from bystanders of their children’s journey to active participants in their children’s learning curve, the children stand to benefit manifold from all the learning.
 

With the above as our design principle we crafted a workshop for parents and children at Brainy Stars Kindergarten. About 20 parents and their children participated in the workshop.The time and space was packed with joy, laughter and learning. Parents were able to see their  children as  learners and children were able to see parents as individuals capable of fun and curiosity, beautifully the parent and the child became one strong team.
 

We listened to the music and moved a little, made funny poses, guessed emotions from pictures and had lots of fun doing all these! Everyone went home with a heart full of memories.
